Research in Joseph C. Wu's laboratory on induced pluripotent stem cells in large-animal models, imaging transplanted cells in the heart, and a chemically defined recipe for human heart-muscle cells that has since been cited more than 1,600 times.

Co-founded Xytogen Biotech and FactorFive Skincare in 2015, taking stem-cell science from the lab into skincare, and worked at Natera, the cell-free DNA diagnostics company, from 2019 to 2021.

ELEVAI Labs · co-founder & CEO
Co-founded ELEVAI Labs in 2020 and led it as CEO through 2025, bringing stem-cell exosome science into professional aesthetics with published characterization data. The first products, ELEVAI enfinity and ELEVAI empower, launched in January 2022; the company listed on Nasdaq in 2023, and Carmell acquired the Elevai Skincare business in 2025.
